Shark Bites Surfer in LBI

The reaction by the “borough officials” reminds me of the scene from Jaws when none of the “village officials” wants to call attention to their local shark problem.

[SURF CITY — A 17-year-old surfer from Lacey Township said he was bitten by a shark Sunday while surfing off 18th Street.

"I was surfing. I was up, and then I fell off and it felt like a baseball bat had whacked my foot," said Ryan Horton. "He bit into my foot and tore off a big part of flesh and skin."
