How Fast is the Housing Bubble Deflating?

It seems to me that the housing bubble is deflating pretty rapidly and some areas of the country could start to experience periods and pockets of panic selling in the next few weeks.

Tomorrow, Existing Homes Sakes for March are going to be released at 10AM and I guess we will see just how quickly the bubble is bursting.

"panic selling"...well there you go again I think that is more wishfull thinking than reality. You must remember HOUSING is a usable commodity (unlike gold )it has many uses renting as well as living in..just like gas now we need gas to live our daily life. However the best thing about housing is LAND...you can't make any more of the stuff ! I can see a slow leak in housing prices but PANIC SELLING...LOL

Panic selling is going to be due to people thinking they will no longer be able to sell for a profit, then later, sell at all without taking a hair cut. You can't make more land is such an old argument that it is not even worth repeating.

it might be a old argument but it still holds true .if you can't sell you can always rent it out ,it's got great tax advantages ..believe me I've been doing it for years

yes I have sat through neghative cashflow however it's like buying stocks on margin you big payoff is when you sell, however with rents being so high in this area it doesn't take long for thr Cash flow to turn +++ I really don't believe there is a bubble in our area .
