Hovnanian Airplane Banners

Did anyone feel compelled this weekend to get out of the beach chair and head straight for the local Hovnanian development to buy a town house?

I didn't either. However, someone at Hovnnian must think it's a good idea to use airplane banners to advertise the company's products because I saw quite a few fly by while sitting on the beach in Long Branch this weekend. I guess Hovnanian is just trying to establish brand awareness by advertising at the Shore, but it seems like a wasteful effort. Airplane banner ads are probably pretty effective for Martels Tiki Bar or Donovan's, but I can't picture many beach visitor's making a mental note to visit a Hovnanian model home because an airplane banner reminded them they need to buy a house.

We saw the banners flying over the ocean and my kiddies had fun waving at the planes. No, it did not even cross my mind to go look at any houses. In fact, we are not looking at houses again until after this summer. I did wonder how much the gas cost to fly that thing around though!
Hopefully, the rest of the soon-to-be buyers will not entertain any offers until the prices are reduced by at least 20%.

How many percent of Carpenters, masonries, builders are UNLINCENSE AND ILLEGAL DAY LABORERS/IMMIGRANTS hired by well-known Homebuilders in New Jersey ??????

FORTUNE Magazine

Immigration reform could kill the housing boom
Up to 40% of home building is done by undocumented aliens. But no one's talking about what a crackdown could do to real estate prices.

Sorta off topic but still funny. A number of years ago a bar called Shooters (a Hoboken night spot that catered to the guido set) advertized a "wet tshirt nite" on a banner plane.

I recall seeing it from Sea Bright and thought "oh man, there'll be a riot there for sure."

As expected, Shooters was mobbed. And things got so out of control that night the place got shut down.
